High resolution scan (8394 x 11036 - 90 megapixel) scan of an authentic Quitrent receipt for years 1908 and 1909. Quit rent is a rent paid by a tenant or a landowner to a higher authority, such as a king, a lord, or a government, to free them from other obligations or rights that were part of feudal law. Quit rent was common in England and its colonies, but is now mostly a form of land tax.
